Give Yourself A Chance To Live

Give Yourself A Chance To Live

Give Yourself A Chance To Live.

There is so much inside yourself to give.

Your heart, your soul, your spirit

Is yearning inside of you to live.

ego-1010016__340

As special as you are, you may not feel so inside

Because all you see and feel is the pain and tears you cry.

But you have a heart and soul which makes you so special;

Your greatness inside of you is of pure gold.

Yet you just don’t see it or believe it; it’s the worst you heard.

The mentality of that bully gets to you, but don’t you believe those words.

You should know by now the bully is jealous of you and your heart of gold.

They hate themselves and turn their hatred onto you with hateful words.

So today break down, cry, and let it all out.

Come tomorrow, look into your mirror and see your special soul.

Be happy with who you are, accept and love yourself.

You know the truth so give yourself a chance to live again.

Living with Disorders Caused By Bullying

Living with Disorders Caused By Bullying

Living with Disorders Caused By Bullying.

Disorder Defined:

A disorder is “a derangement or abnormality of function; a morbid physical or mental state. For specific disorders, such as the psychiatric disorders, see under the name, such as anxiety disorders and personality disorders. (http://medical-dictionary.thefreedictionary.com/disorder)

Bullying Defined:

Bullying is “unwanted, aggressive behavior among school aged children that involves a real or perceived power imbalance. The behavior is repeated, or has the potential to be repeated, over time. Both kids who are bullied and who bully others may have serious, lasting problems.” (www.stopbullying.gov)

Introduction:

After effects of bullying differ in many victims, but one thing is certain – the torment and torture received by the bully never goes away, even years after it is over with. Emotional scars – and physical – will haunt you forever. No matter how much you talk about it – that is if you do – the emotional toll will always be there. That toll pays a price, either with life or living with it, but trying to make the best out of every day as you do.

Most victims of bullying who survive end up with some sort of disorder that winds up with them forever – a feeling that causes loneliness, fear, and the inability to love or trust anyone ever again. However, this feeling can also be extensive and expansive, depending on what the disorder is.

You may be asking yourself, “Why is this girl who you don’t know telling you this? How could she possibly know?”

I have three disorders – manic depressive (which is one-half of the full disorder diagnosed as – not too keen on saying what the other half is). The second is seasonal disorder. The third being another one if I were to reveal would probably scare some people away. I have been manic-depressive since I was about 8 years old. The other 2 1/2 disorders I have developed later on in life, which were all caused by the bullying.

Well, I ended up in the hospital four different times during my undergraduate college years because of these 2 1/2 disorders, and it effected my learning skills because of the chemical balances in my brain. I would be happy go lucky one minute and then be so mad I had to physically let out my anger the next – hence martial arts will always be my saving grace for it. Somehow, one of my bosses seemed to notice this in early 2002. (Thank you for saving me and introducing me to Sil-Lum Kung-fu and Emperor’s Long Fist, Mr. Steve Ferguson! I am eternally grateful to you)! It took me six years, but I got through undergraduate school.

You may now be wondering, “Why is this girl you do not know talking about herself? How can this possible relate to me? How can this help me?”

Martial Arts Can Save You and Help You Living With a Disorder:

When you become a target for a bully, martial arts can provide you skills to defend yourself. Martial arts will also provide you the strength, self-confidence, self-esteem, and core fundamentals to improving your inner growth and educational skills. It improves your mindset to be able to focus on studies and your daily living with a disorder, if you have been diagnosed with one, caused by the bully (or bullies). Martial arts can also control temperamental moods, because it teaches you respect others and to be kind to others. You will not be seeing anyone swinging at you uncontrollably like the bully has been.

You will experience setbacks and obstacles, but these setbacks and obstacles are meant to be overcome, to make you smarter, brighter, and healthier every day. It is the martial art way, the martial art lifestyle.

In Conclusion:

If you are like me and have been bullied (or are being bullied right now), and struggle with the emotional and physical tolls that come with it and any disorders that may come about due to the cause of it – and believe me when I say there will be – you should try martial arts. It just may save you and be your saving grace. You will be able to live a bully-free life. Even though you may be living with disorders caused by bullying that you know will never go away, you will not have that suffering feeling you have been feeling (or have felt).

How would that make you feel?
