Do You Have A Support System?
Do you have a support system, in which you can go to for help if you are being bullied? Do you have a support system, in which you can go to to express your feelings and situation in which the bullying has put you in and done to you?
If you have answered, “Yes,” to either of these questions, consider yourself blessed, because most bullied victims don’t.
If you have answered, “No,” to either of these questions, you need to consider yourself at risk for your safety, your health, your mental health, and your physical well-being.
Bullying causes an unstable environment for not only yourself, but also for others around you. When a bystander witnesses a bullying, it can also cause an effect on him/herself as well. (S)he can experience a negative effect for two reasons…
1). The bystander can also become a targeted victim of the bully if the bystander does not have the strength and courage to stand up for him/herself.
2). The bystander doesn’t say anything or come to your defense because (s)he fears the bully him/herself.
In either of these situations, the bystander and the targeted victim being bullied will experience after effects of the bullying, and the harm it can do to him/herself. In either case, both the victim and bystander (s) should have a support system to go to.
In the video below, I express how important it is to have a support system in place when bullying arises.
